Open Dialect
-A Tutorial-
I have created a tutorial which can be downloaded from the downloads section of this website, it includes a sample ILE and a step by step description for making it.
-SD Conference Updates Hello to everyone who I have met at this years System Dynamics Conference in Athens. I have enjoyed speaking to you all and I am very happy to offer you these tools free of charge. If you want to see some simple example ILEs I have made go here and here. The first is based on a Vensim model that is running on a Server through a webservice I have made and the second is using an OpenSim? model which is embedded directly into the ILE. I will add the latest builds to the downloads page shortly when I return home and I have a solid connection.
If you want to talk to me e-mail me at opendialect AT gmail DOT com. Remember you can report bugs and request features by making a new ticket I will check these often.
-News- Open Dialect 0.6.0 is up for windows, one is coming soon for linux. This update allows you to work with OpenSim? models! Also Open Dialect is sporting a new BEAUTIFUL Icon YAY!!!
-Old News- I have received my redistributable license, Open Dialect 0.5.0 with the ability to produce AIR files is now up. I have both a Windows form and a Linux form, if anyone knows how to make OS X installers or a better linux installer PLEASE CONTACT ME!
Open Dialect Now produces .air files as well. Each file is signed with a certificate generated by the user! I have not built an installer since I am waiting for my redistributable license for the Free Flex SDK. Once I get it an installer will go up!
I still need someone who is interested in maintaining the Flash portion of this software because I need to focus all my time effort and energy on the System Dynamics portion. If you are interested please create a ticket to notify me.
-Other News Outlets- Check out this blog for some more information on Open Dialect. Special thanks to Sunil for putting it up and spreading the word!
Open Dialect is an open source IDE for Flash distributed under the GPL. The final goal of this project is to create a tool which allows for the creation of Interactive Learning Environments that interact with System Dynamics Models over the internet. A current example can be viewed at http://www.t21northamerica.com/PolicyResistance.html
